Myotherapy is an excellent form of therapy for anyone who is experiencing musculoskeletal pain or dysfunction. The treatment is focused on an evidence-based initial assessment and then the treatment that can form part of your rehabilitation and pain management plan. All of the treatments offered by Roy are on an individual basis and precisely tailored to your condition. The overall objective is to improve the range of movement in joints, reduce pain as well as strengthen muscles. The primary forms of physical therapy treatments offered are myotherapy, remedial massage and deep tissue massage.

In addition to myotherapy, Roy also offers remedial massage and deep tissue massage. Remedial massage is designed to relieve muscle tension, enhance flexibility and promote blood flow. The objective is to improve or eliminate musculoskeletal conditions by removing the problem at the source.

Roy’s style of deep tissue massage is based on the Raynor massage techniques and is a full body massage designed to stimulate energy or tension bands. It has been proven to be successful in relieving residual tension and muscle tightness.

The treatments have been proven to offer relief for:

  • Sporting and injuries incurred while at work
  • General pains, strains and muscular dysfunction
  • Problems caused by poor posture
  • Back pain
  • Hip pain
  • Frozen shoulder
  • Sciatica
  • Tension headaches and migraine

We can also help with pain management and injury prevention. This is an independent business with Roy treating as the sole therapist. Roy is a fully trained myotherapist and massage therapist who is currently completing a Bachelor in Health Science Degree (clinical myotherapy). Before moving to Melbourne, he ran a massage therapy clinic in Brisbane so has a wealth of experience in the industry. To gain a greater understanding of the benefits that he can provide, Roy took part in some volunteer work in Cambodia to help bring relief to those suffering from chronic pain in that country.
